I use a 12v bulb, if the bulb flashes when cranking or running there is power to the injectors

i dont think they pluse 12v though, youd be better off with a multimeter, set it to 20volts and touch the pins of the multimeter on the connections then crank the engine.

be careful you dont bend the pins inside the clip though, took em a while to figure out where the missfire was coming from

Injectors are 12v, and xr-stu that sounds near impossible to measure with a multimeter, digital meters don't respond rapidly to sudden changes. The bulb idea seems like a good idea, either that or plug in a spare injector and crank it and you'll see/feel the injector working.

ah right, just on my zetec it was only showing 1.5v or there abouts cranking the engine over!

the multimeter wasnt giving accurate readings but was showing a constant change in voltage. but then again i dont know many light bulbs that give an accurate reading of voltage either!

The reason that it only showed 1.5 volts is due to the metre not reading quick enough, It can only be read with a really good metre or a scope, Ive got 3 at work but they are too big to be lugging about to take readings from a car
