standard in a cossie mate as the breather vents any oil to the airbox.

I only get this if i fill oil all the way up to the max on the dipstick. Leaving it at the middle and its fine.

As long as it isn't sloshing about it's fine. As the engine 'breathes' you get oil vapour which over time will deposit a layer. Perfectly normal.

this is designed to be "green" by making the engine inhale all the oil vapours back in, vent it away from the inlet imo.
oil vapour increases the chance of det.
if you want a green car sell it and go buy a micra

As per Matt, so a seperate oil breather system is a good idea (or catch the oil vapour in a coke bottle if skint/tight (delete as applicable) better than the engine digesting it. Plus, under hard cornering/engine breathing badly, I think the system can literally squirt oil into the air box (hence watch out for 'puddles'.
