Default popping

Is it normal for an rs to pop quietly when going down the rev range in gear? Would this mean its slightly overfueling?

Also how much quicker would it be quarter mile stripping rear seat out?

cheers

Loads of em do it mate, shouldn't worry about it too much! Like u said, tis just overfuelin on overrun a little bit, shouldn't be as bad when the fuellin's bang on, but mfi's not exactly accurate is it!!

They shouldn't actually do it on over run KE Jetronic shuts off fuel supply on over-run as part of its **fuel economy** but a lot of them do do this. Wouldn't of thought it was anything to worry about

mine does it too! u would only gain around 0.2of a sec if that, i was doing runs with a stripped out motor then wen i was packed up for the weekend with all me camping gear and bbq thought it would be funny to see wat it ran and it did pretty much the same, big differences i found wer taking headlight out to let air into filter and letting frnt tyre pressures down to about 17psi

My old RST used to make poping noises when fitted with a Scorpion.

Changed it for a goose and and it started to quack

Mine pops and bangs LODAS although I know the fueling needs turning down slightly.

I wouldn't worry about it...but get it set-up when you get chance!

Obviously not putting enough effort in then. Unless your piston looks like this, you aren't doing it right

Thats pretty fucked Competition time then lads see who can fuck their piston up the most

My mate works for Renault and he's slowly but surely building up a collection of "Mass Destruction" on top of his tool box, i'll see if i can get a shot he's got a pretty fucked piston in it. Got a turbo i'm donating to him aswell i'll get some pics of that
