Default 30K family car

If you had 30k for car to carry 2 adults and 2 children, what you choose?

My choice would be either an M5 or a Porsche 911 C2

I've had Audi's for a while and fancied a change.

Interesting that no-one has indicated a porsche - do they still have the 'yuppie' image attached to them?

Deffo the RS4.... Can't get RS6 cos thats like Ł55k. Would be better suited to family life than an Evo and M5, especially if it's the estate version....

Also, jsut bear in mind the Estate version (standard I might add) lapped the Nurburgring fast than a Lamborghini Diablo I've driven a couple (at work so not really had the hammer down on em) but they drive BEAUTIFULLY! The quality and buildmanship is just simply superb! You can also get them with a auto box, allowing you to stick it in "semi-auto" mode for 6-speed tiptronic gear change

RS4 all day long

(They don't have 440bhp tho, they have 380bhp)

Like them all, M5's - always loved. Audi's are cool too. Just looked at the porsche's and I would get a convertible one if I was going for the porsche. You could get the new shape M3 for that money.

OR

if your not bothered about it being a sports car you could import a hummer or even a ford F150

sorry for being no help at all. you can get a lot of car for 30k , just wish I had that to spend

F150 or a hummer not really the best idea for a family runabout to shop the kids in tho eh : ?

Think peeps are losing sight of what this car needs to be used for.....

Thrush - that's right, it says on the link i provided it has had a 440bhp conversion of some sort, still lovely car's and audi's are lovely to drive. Just a all round road car fast and family suited IMO

Ah 440hp conversion They is the nuts yeah - my bro's mate has a S4 saloon. Same 2.7 V6 bi turbo as the RS4, same 4WD system, only difference is the turbo's are slightly smaller and on different maps, meaning power is only 270/280bhp. He's changed them to RS4 turbo's now, uprated this, that, new exhaust (Ł1200!!!!!) remap and now upto 340bhp and SHIT loads of tourque!!!!!

At the moment, if I was buying new for 30K and in your situation - probably a Vauxhaul Monaro, BMW330 CI or Evo 8 FQ300/20/40.....

Ł30K doesn't get you much of a porker IMO. 996 C4S would be nice, but more expensive.

IMO a porsche 911 isnt a family run about. you can hardly complain about things like petrol consumption if your looking at things like M5's evo's porsche's. dont see why you couldnt use any of those cars. I have only seen 2 hummers on the road, both had families inside.

was just suggesting another option that I would think about if I had that sort of money IF THATS OK WITH YOU THRUSH??? In future i'll PM you to check my opinions are ok with you first

Got out of bed badly or summat chap?

Reason I said i wouldn't have thought an F150 wouldn't be a perfect family runabout is it's a pick up truck... Most people don't use pick up trucks as family cars - more likely to be an estate or large saloon
