Not a lot from what I have been told... As im planning doing the same...

Should go in on pinto mounts... may need a modified sump... also may need a custom prop and just needs about 6 wires to wire it up

there's been a couple done in old magazines.

not being a comon conversion (which is a shame!) I would guess there is some custom fabrication needed.

Easy but use a 2wd loom makes life easier

shortened prop about 1" needs to b taken out
2.8 i fuel tank and lsd (need to change ratio)

refabricate/ modifiy rear gearbox bracket

pinto eng mounts and use cossie sump

i used sierra cos rad and fans in my tina (bit of cutting req)

use a 4x4 cos s/steel exhaust cut and chop to fit (don't need much but will exit under axle)

hope this helps

U can use standard pinto mounts. The tunnel has to be opened slightly to for the t5 box,by use of a hammer! easiest way to do it is to use a whole sierra. You also need a 2.8 injection tank with external pump. You can also use the standard 1.6 prop, although i have heard they need beefing up as they can break,i dont know yet as i havnt tried my car yet. The only problem i encountered was the clutch cable, the releasearm is on he opposite side on a t5,i found one on e bay,i believe its a transit item, apparently graham goode does them.

well iv spoke to my dad and he is keen to make this project happen.any more info or tips much apreciated,my dad has had the capri for bout 15 years and at the moment it is just sitting in the garage , he just uses the xr4x4 which he has,all the time.because the capri is only a 1.6 he has no interest in driving it anymore, with me having the cosworth i have now pursuaded him to fit a yb in the capri to give it a new lease of life.then it will be fun again and he will look forward to driving it again .
Here's some pics of the capri (its on axle stands)

this is his XR4x4 2.0 dohc

Hi,i'm new to this forum, but I saw this article. I've been building a Cossie Capri for about 11 years (yeah i know looong while ) Started with a 1.6 Laser shell, but needed alot of welding rust holes up, so ended up with a 2.8i shell in pretty good nick
