Default REALLY REALLY REALLY HEAVY STEERING???

My s2erst seems to have extremely heavy steering are there any common things that can cause this, the cars been lowered on a spax sportkit and polybushed at the front, could it be steering rack??,track control arms, etc...........the steering is worst oviously when trying to park/slow moving but its still heavy when driving, its a pity because its spoiling the car and im toying with the idea of selling up for a nice power assisted cossie but id love to sort it as i love the car ..........................please help , thanx

your willing to sell yours and get a cossy because its got PAS ?

ive thought to myself about selling up recently as i had trouble with my van , i thought , it`ll be ok a cheap fix, but it wasnt but boy oh boy was it worth it !!

im willing to bet if you take it to a geometry set up center , they would be able to tell you right away what your problem is, if you already have changed all the bushes then there isnt anything else left thats going to cost you big bux

seriously fella, dont get a cossy just for the power steering

im not going to buy a cossie just for the pas as ive owned a 400bhp 4x4 sapphire a few years ago but the heavy steering is just spoiling a perfect car to me i cant drive it how i normally would drive a front wheel car because the steering is so stiff and heavy even at high spped the steering isnt very responsive and u have to really man handle it which isnt right im sure.......

Drove an FRST that was dangerously hard to steer once, took it out on a test drive from the garage and could barely turn the wheel to get out of the forecourt!

Needless to say we didn't go far in it, minor adjustments were impossible with it as it was so stiff, need arms like fuckin Arnie to turn it!

How low is the car ? If it's been lowered 60-80mm and the camber etc is all shot the steering will be a pig. Sounds daft but have you checked the tyre pressures ? Are they low ?
