Default Just been GPS testing LOL ;)

Its one for a pda, not sure on model, but car under serious acceleration is loads faster than the gps can keep up.

Surely you can get em better and quicker to up date but this proved to be too much whilst recording speed.

Hit 135 at the peak, was in 4th about 6000 but then i slowed down it went up some more and then dropped so not sure on accuracy.

On steady build ups it did roughlly this, as u can appreciate its hard to look at it to be precice so at 4k in 5th tho it read 100 and 4450 was 110 and 4900 was 120...

Can anyone check with bernies calculator to see how accurate this is please......

mine's always a tiny bit out, the GPS normally reads about 5 mph slower, is this correct?

The 3 5th gear readings are quite consistent:-

25 mph/1000 rpm
24.7
24.49

What is your rev limit? Have you pulled it?

the GPS should be perfect mate, if the device being used can keep up with the speed of the car as far as i understand it all.

7150 = 178mph
7800 = 195

EDIT to say based on the numbers above not the calculator...

GPS is pretty damn accurate and only hindered by your devices refresh rate as far as im aware

During hard acceleration or harsh braking it can be left a behind a little.

Dingy - will take a couple of seconds to update - so u need to be at a constant speed for this time - then it's accurate to 0.1ms lol

My S2 speedo is about 4mph too slow, (doing 84 when showing 80 cos ive changed the speedo), normal s2 is about 4mph fast at 70.

civilian GPS systems update every second. You won't get better unless you ask the army if you can borrow theirs afaik.

IF you want to i can let you use my street pilot it has 1sec refresh so as long as you hold the speed for a second or 2 it will tell you the speed

and

Its GOT PEAK SPEED RECALL so once we stop i can take digi pic of it to post if you like and GPS is proof enough for me of a cars speed etc

Nige
