Coilovers on frst (updated help please!!)

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on fitting gaz coilovers, just want to know if theres any mods I have to do or do they just bolt straight on as dont want to take it apart to find I cant do it!!

well i fitted H&R coilovers on my 2i n they jus bolted straight on m8, jus had 2 take a couple of parts of da old suspension, bit its a straight fit takes bout 1-2hours 2 do.

i fitted avo to mine and same as above, had to nab a couple of bits from old stuff and bolted on, tip though, set all the stiffness the same to start with and adjust from there, also the same with ride hight, i counted the treads to get the hight and then adjusted from there.

Fitted the rears today looks the plumbs with the 3dr rims on, only thing is even with a 10mm spacer each side the wheels still catch the coilovers duw! Looks like I need biger spacers and longer threads

Bit I was stuck on was whether that nut in the pic goes back on, if im right that was holding the cup on top of the origional suspension should they have gone back on?

when you take old shock out, you have a nut, then the cup, then the bits in the pic above, i'll see if i can find some pic's on my pc tomorrow to shouw ya what i mean mate, not doing it now as beds calling

na matefrom the spring, you have the spring seat, thrust bearing, cup, then the nut, that is the shock asand when assembaled, this is put up in to the car, the strut top is placed on and another nut is put on.
if this is how ya done it then my bad. if not ya better check it mate
