Hi
Im collecting a new pro alloy front mounted intercooler with twin fans from my local tuner on sat.
Its going to be fitted into my 1.8 zetec (bottom end) 90 spec series 2 rst.
Any body got one of these coolers? if so whats it like & does it make a big difference?
I've been told it will fit behind my standard 90 spec bumper no problem, i hope this is true!!!!
Cheers Matt

hi matt, ive got one on my series 2 rs, ive also got the pro alloy rad. my one is the newer type where the twin fans go between the rad and intercooler which looks alot better. performnace wise its definatley dropped my act's down from when i had a charge cooler, also my rad is the nuts, even with the intercooler now blocking my rad my temps sit below quarter when moving and i dont even see the needle hit anywhere near half way in heavy traffic. with regards to fitting, its pretty straight forward, best is to take ya time though to get it all correct and looking good, a couple of hours youll be done, my 90 spec bumper didnt quite go straight back on, i had to pack it out a little with some washers but that is only while my new bumper is being modded.........in standard form the bumper does block a hell of a lot of the intercooler to be honest so im hoping to get even lower temps when the new one is fitted. pro alloy are beautiful bits of kit, im well happy with mine. one of the best choices i made was buying their products. roll on the summer to see if it performs just as good !!!!.

Hello mate, i also fitted the second generation fromt mount cooler from pro alloy and what a bit of kit it is. I was really impressed by the workmenship that has gone into the cooler its self and the car does run a bit hotter but a fan switch should help that problem. Yes mine fitted straight on without any problems but just watch out for the bonnet catch when you close it coz that tends to touch, so you may have to bend it a bit. I advise you get bonnet pins as it is much safer, coz we all know the bonnets have this tendency of flipping from time to time. goodluck mate and enjoy
