Default Mondeo Flywheel and clutch on a fiesta?

Is a mondeo flywheel bigger than a fiesta one and will it a fiesta??

Im just thinking if its bigger and fits i can fit a mondeo clutch which will have more surface area so will be better in theory

anyone know??

it will go on mate, but you will need a MTX75 gearbox.

its a 240mm clutch compared to the std 220mm item.

but a good RS turbo clutch will do (std 220mm size)

cheers mate. so it wont work with my CTS box then cause that ib5 i think ?

Just trying to get the car sorted for a brunters thrash in april.

Think im just gonna stick a std rsturbo clutch in with a std fiesta flywheel then as ive fucked two alcon six paddles so far in a very short space of time. The first one the clutch was fucekd to begin with (manfacturating fault) but second seemed fine for a while then just let go. Could be down to my lightened flywheel somehow? although i did have it re faced before fitting the clutch.

ap all the way i dont rate alcon clutches for fwd application they just dont last, ap four paddle with there new heavy duty cover 3560-2 will handle 350bhp then after that got to be a twin plate paddle but in the mean time a standard rs turbo clutch should do the job nicely...

i'll see you @ the thrash

Alright Sean,

aint seen you tearing around lately. hows things?

Yea im never going alcon again. Gonna switch back to a std flywheel just incase that was causeing probs and use a std frst clutch or maybe stg 1 organic for now and see how it goes. I havent got massive amounts of torque so i think it should be fine for awhile

In 2 of my clutch books at work they list the Fiesta RS1800 as having a 240mm clutch as std and the XR2i 16v having a 220mm.....anyone shed any light on this as I've not had a gearbox out of a RS1800 b4????

if the RS1800 uses a 240mm clutch its running an MTX75 box, do you have lift reverse steve?

you should have if its a MTX box as all BC and IB5 boxes are bottom right reverse.

easiest way to tell

the xr2i will just be a std escort/fez box with a 220mm clutch

hows it possible for mtx75 to fit as i thought they were slightly longer and needed part or the metal in the wheel arch flared out towards the wheel?

i dont know on the fez mate, but on S2 turbos you hve to cut and plate a bit of the chassis rail. Jano has done this a few times.

i could well be wrong witht he 240mm clutch in a fez being on a MTX box, but im pretty sure that the mondeo/240mm flywheel wont fit in a IB5 box.

hi m8

i hardly drive the frst 750cc injectors even with closed loop lamba its not the most economical plus i've still got a few issues to sort out, like my steering ,brakes, clutch, alarm, roll cage ready for the fiesta thrash, are you convoying up to bruntes?
