Default Who are these firkin e-bay scammers ?

and where do they live !

I'd like to burn the freekin houses down.

I tried helping a mate out recently by selling a surplus mobile phone for him, a nice new Sony Ericsson K750i.

So I looked on e-bay, saw what they were going for and then listed it as a BUY IT NOW £5 cheaper than any of the others with free delivery.

Anyway, not 20 minutes after it was listed it was sold.

So I was chuffed to bits until I got the e-mail asking if I would ship to Nigeria...

So I politely told the gentleman to walk away with jerking movements and re-listed it

Then it sells again... great I thought.... then I get the e-mail, will you ship to Poland....

SO totally fed up by this point re-list it again as an Auction with a reserve.

Report both the previous fraudulant Buy It Nows and get the lame e-bay type standard e-mail.

Anyway, the auction runs its course, the reserve is met and then someone at the last minute dives in with no feed back and wins it.

So I send off an invoice and I get the details back from e-bay with a valid address.

'marian marek, 179B cressing road,braintree, Essex cm73pj'

The I noticed her e-mail address end '.cz'

Since then I've had nothing.

Other than a fat bill from e-bay, apparently even on fraudulent auctions the robbin bar stewards still take their listing fee..

So after three attempts to do a mate a favour I have nothing but a fat bill from e-bay and a lovely phone I dont want

I have my account setup with all sorts of restrictions 1 of them being that the bidder must have a Paypal account, so far I haven't had anymore wankers bidding and then fucking me about.....fingers crossed

What annoys me more is that Ebay do fuck all about all the time wasting idiots and they just keep reeling in the £££££

I've had exactly the same thing happen with the last three phones I've sold recently. They were all won by users registered on that day, asking to post to Nigeria, I even received fake paypal receipts.

In the end I blocked non paypal bidders + included terms that said I would only sell to ebayers who are registered far 1month min + had at least +3 feedback and if someone won the auction without meeting those terms then I would ignore the bid and offer it to the next person down who did.

They pay you, you ship it off, then they take back the money.

*usually* western union money transfer.

You can make these restictions when listing the acution, choose location where it is to be sold is one thing alotof people don't look at properly

You can do it so the buyer must have a paypal account, again an option for you when listing

it's all there, you just need to take your time listing

Sorry to hear about it, but you can claim ALL fees back, done it many times before

Smit, somewhere in your selling terms you can block people without paypal + people with a -1 feedback score. Shame it wasn't +3 or something. As I said, I got fake paypal receipts, someone not as clever as myself could easily be fucked over by this sort of thing.

Wish I'd kept some of the abusive, graphic and downright discusting e-mails I sent the bloke.

I now list stuff like that and set it so they need to pay at end of auction or they dont get it, avoids being shafted.

I wish I'd never said I'd list it, he would have been better sticking it in the free ads.

If anyone is in Braintree and fancies just popping a turd in a paper bag through the door of the scamming bidder then I wont mind...

I said I would only ship to the uk on my stuff but it counts for shit if they register with a valid UK address.

And as there are soooo many 'Johnny Forgieners' in this country its soo hard to tell if they are real people or not....

Man its so annoying..

And what is it with Nigeria ? I never get any shit from any other african country....

I must have been so lucky.....Sold loads of gear including phones and never had a problem, and also bought loads,,,,,,Including two cars, and still not had a problem..... Must have been lucky I guess.

BUT : When I'm selling I always stick with the Paypal Only Payment, and also include that in the Description Text. And, only sell within the Uk, and anyone with less than five positive feedbacks must e-mail me before bidding.

I know you get robbed by Paypal for their payment fee's, but it does save alot of hassel.
