Default Them rover tomcat things.

Can they be tuned to go quick ? reason i ask is i had one follow me to the local test track and tried it on,absolutely caned his arse twice, couldn't understand if he was thick as mince racing a cossie or if he genuinely fancied his chances.

They are very tunable, but few people bother as whats the point in ten grands worth of tuning on 1 grands worth of car.

Can be tuned to well over 600bhp if you want it.

250bhp or so is easy first steps, with more boost, exhaust, filter, etc, and that should keep up with a stg1 cossie.

I doubt he got a "cossie engine mods radar" fitted to his car, so couldnt tell you was on greens

ive raced against a few of these , the old Super coupe cup cars were quite quick for what they are, nimble FWD handling as well round short circuits . Cope with a Cossie up to 330 bhp round the twisties i reckon , didn't have the speed after that tho .

Pardon my ignorance about matters Rover (bad experience with a company Rover in 1985 means I've deliberately ignored them ever since) but what is a Tomcat?

My mate has one should be over 350bhp once he finally gets arounf to running the fooker in But they are a nightmare to get over 300bhp and a lot of money has to be spent compared to cossie quivelent.

Tomcats are the rover coupes they made fro about L plate to R?

i've just got an 800 Vitesse Sport while i get some funds saved up for another cossie... not too bad, but not sparkingly fast either!

pistons dont like much more than 12psi of boost for long, so need forged pistons i am told.

mems ecu is shite tho.

then theres the gearboxes lol.. mines had a rebuild, but you never know pmsl.

250bhp is easily achieveable, but you do need new pistons!

i had one with about 250 bhp, was very fast in a straight line and top speed, not very good round corners and the sub frame came apart!
the drive shafts come out all the time too!
got pissed of with fixing it all the time so sold it
now have a cosworth and it off the road half the time too! (but will not be selling it this time)
