Default Question for all you brake guru's

What difference does changing the brake lines make to the cars braking and why ?

curious because it seems a common mod ?

i changed the rubber hoses that go from the metal lines to the calipers. the rubber is more likly to expand than the steel braided hoses and there for less fluid will be pumped into the caliper and reduce your breaking.

I thought that might be along those lines i would have thought say my evo would have decent brakes lines as standard though ?

i would of thought so. i guess the easies way to tell is to have a look.

the problem is normally with older cars when the rubber hoses get a bit worn and soft. im sure when they are new they are man enough for normal driving.

braided hose's are expensive, so manufactures' stay away normally, doubt it will have them as std.

They probably are, but you'd still notice a differance by fitting braided lines. Manafacturers like Jaguar and Aston Martin fit them as standard
