Default Yet another E /Bay tosser

Please beware of a white 2wd saff from (RIPON) in North yorks .

The car was listed on e/bay as s straight car with a sweet engine and box
Needed a few jobs to make mint

These few jobs are only

1, a complete engine rebuild
2, a reshell
3, new wheels
4, new exhaust
5, new trim
6, gearbox rebuild

This will defo be relisted so keep an eye out for it ,
I have just got back from seeing this complete pile of shite
Why do people tell lies , do they think people are stupid

This is why its so hard for a genuine seller to convince a buyer the car is as desciribed and not a pile of junk, people do get fed up of having there time wasted,I had the excat same experience that you have just encounted, only consolation it was not far to travel

Jacko
He called today , but im not open sundays ( unless you have a big pocket of cash ) lol

He is collecting another time

Pete
The worst of it is that i spoke to him on the phone for ages and he was telling me how great the car was only needed a few minor jobs ,

When i said about it smoking so bad he said " i have seen worse and thought that it was ok " Any worse and you might as well just poor the oil into the exhaust and cut out the middle man

we've all done it-i went all the way to glasgow to see a "mint"crystal blue sapphire cosworth.when i got there it had no id tag on it,no oil feed to the turbo,it had a puncture which the guy couldnt get the wheel nuts off to change, strut tops were hanging out,all 4 doors were rusty.

when i got out of the car he said"there she is mate, isnt she stunning for the year?only thing is you will have sort out the flat tyre yourself as i cant be arsed changing it as ive snapped my wheelbrace trying".

it would have been easier to just turn around and leave it,but felt after going all that way,had to question its condition-"well mate i dont know much about cars and only bought it a week ago,but a lad i know said it was mint,so thats what i told you"...........

turn around and walk away jay said the voice in my head-so i did.

also went to look at a restored rs2000 mk2 in glasgow(?),"ive spent 2 years restoring this car to its former glory, but im getting married so need the cash"
got there and in this poxy little garage was this light blue rs2000 and next to it was a big(empty)tub of filler,a cheap mig welder, and god knows how many tins of aerosol paint------"i did it all myself-what do you think"he said proudly-"this is my first restoration, once the wedding is out of the way im going to do another".he had welded 100's of 2inch squares everywhere, sills bulkhead floors a-posts.
my answer was-"you told me you had spent thousands on restoring it-i didnt think it was on welding wire, filler and aerosols."he gave me a look and said"well if you dont want it ill sell it to someone else then"

too right mate....

the world is full of them, but travelling over 200 miles is a killer!as said paul,at least it was only round the corner.

I went to look at a mk6 escort and the guy told me that it was mint apart from a very small scratch on the bottom of the passenger door and that it would more than likely polish out.

Turns out it was completely fooked and needed a new door. Plus a front bumper and mirror.

Why do people waste other peoples time.

i can understand 100% last year me and my dad drove to edinbough (SP) from swindon to buy this car

my dad spoke to them about 10 times asking about the car it came with 3 different mag features we was e-mailed them and all looked very good it was not road a road legal car so was told driving it on the road would not be possible unless we wanted to risk it, but not a prob as we have trade plates

so get there look around the car all looks good go to start it

flat battery , at which point me were amazed he know we were coming from swindon the least he could have done was make sure it started well charged the battery and after a while got both engines running

then the car would not engage gear finaly got it into first on both engines went to pull away and it stalled

done this 3 times and just kept stalling

to which the bloke says its because it has race clutch's and my dad aint reving it high enought

so up to 10k rpm and drop the clutch and guess what

stalled again at which point we were like no thanks mate

so we drove from swindon to edinbough for nothing £10k cash ready to buy it and it was nothing as described

That word "Mint" gets me boiling.

Or add has mint in title then description says

Mint apart from dent in wing, rust on arches oh and could do with engine rebuild. Time wasters thinking because its and auction they can describe it as they want

I saw that car had been advertised a few times. It seemed cheap when looking at the adverts, but I guess thats why it did'nt seem to sell fast.

It would be fun once running properly though.
