I always thought it was a 7 as well, when they did the second front end facelift and changed the whole dash sure thats a mk7 could be wrong though

Find it strange that it went from mk5 to 6 with just a change of rear lights and a but ugly bonnet yet didnt go to a 7 when they made a lot more changes than between 5 and 6 I always have called it a mk 7 and i think i'll stick with that wrong or not

That does make sense but lots of people do seem to think their are mk 5 6 and 7 escorts

It was MK5 (flat rear and front)


MK5b (MK6 rear and "smiley" bonnet)


MK6 (same MK5b rear but with revised front)



Normally the MK7 is referred as a MK6 escort van.
