British Transport Police cover railways and the london underground and yes they are just another branch of the force so have all the powers
ok ive read this wrong.. i thought when asked do they have the same powers as normal cops he was on about out on the road as iv seen the transport police driving down the motorway and just drivin around generally so if you on the tube or a bus they are normal cops but out on the street they dont?

I am on about on the road, he followed me for about 6-7 miles after a little 'incident', only when I made a break for it did the blues come on - by which time I was well gone.

are you talking about BTP or the guys who prance around on motorways in range rovers? with black and amber decals? that's the highway agency, nothing to do with British Transport Police
highways agency don't have powers to do you for speeding etc, they're just a quick response team who deal with accidents and general problems
