Default T34 Boost....

I have only just got my cossie but i'm assuming it's stage 3. It has got Rolling road print outs of 309 bhp and 299lbs/ft of torque. Green injectors etc etc..

Anyway - it has got a t34 turbo boosting to around 12psi. Is this the maximum boost I can safely run or can it be turned up a tad without messing things up?

Thats low boost for a t34 runnng greens really. Although for 12 psi 309 bhp is very good. Most stage 3 cossies run 25ish psi. Also are your green injectors 803's (dark green) or light greens.

Dont turn the boost up willy nilly without getting the fuelling checked by a pro. there may well be a reason your boost is only 12 psi

To up the boost you shorten the actuator rod. This puts more preload on the spring and hence more boost is needed to open the wastegate penny in the turbo. But dont do it. Let who ever is setting it up do it so they can monitor afr and check for det.

I had the car set up by Tremona Garage in Southampton on saturday.

Now its running about 25psi. Daaaaaamn its fast! Flames out the exhaust the lot! Turns out the diaphram on the dump valve wasn't sitting correctly and the pressure was being lost.

Can't recommend Tremona enough - check 'em out!

www.tremonagarage.com

They know their stuff. Set ups are carried out on the road - just don't tell plod

If you go there, ask to see their show cars - impressive stuff! There's an Escort Cossie in a carcoon with only 1600 miles on the clock from new!
