Default Which front strut mounts are best?? 909 - solid or ??

I want a better handling chassis for my sapphire cossie, part of this meant solid mounting most of the chassis so I bought a set of solid mounts for my front suspo strut tops. I then found these adjustable mounts for a cosworth and thought these maybe better???

The thing is they are massive and Im not sure they will work with my strut towers now as I have a roll cage through to the turrets.
So can anybody tell me how much work the set on the right are to fit? Also which is best? I have seen a few track cars now with the same set up as Marco` 3dr and wondered if they would be best?
Anybody know what these are too??

Anybody shed some light?

neither of them are 'actual' 909 parts pal, but they will both do a job 10000000 times better than a std strut top, one is concentric, one is eccentric, the eccentric items will give you differant adjustablilty if thats what you want, the bits below are spacers for spherical ball joints pal.

Dont use either of those on the road , the TAS ones on the right shed bearings regularily and both are too harsh , no compliance !
I use them on my racecars and theyre ok , allows easier adjustment and easy to fit on a Sierra . No dramas .

I want a fit and forget set up, though Im not shy on maintainance. It is a track and drift car only and an ex WRC sapphire shell Tony thanks for the info on the TAS bearings, why is it a problem, any fix for them/recommended bearing type? I have now seen these adjustable mounts fitted, just not on a cosworth, anybody got them? What do people run?

I will let you know what I decide Doug

Mark - you have to say ex-Group A shell, or the WRC afficionados get very put out - there was no WRC back in 1992.

Markk/Tony - it's my old shell Mark's got, and you know what that looks like from the pics etc.....

WELSH RALLY C/SHIP

Then a lot will depend on what struts you intend to fit , the Bilsteins have a 25mm ( or was it 20mm ) diameter at the top the same as TAS bearing sizes , you can buy better bearings from a Bearing suppliier but they'll be more than the top mounts are worth . If you use any toher strut you better measure up the top part to see if you need to make any top hats like in the bottom picture , these are very common in Msport and a pain to make !!
Good luck !

Hi Rich
Sounds like too much of a pain.

If a rally car is possibly used around the world can it not be refered to as a World Rally Car? oh yeah I forgot that I cant use "GpA" as a terminology to describe an item sold by a dealer as such, because the item wasnt used in GpA rallies

Thanks for your help and lessons in terms for rally car class regulations
The rally car project will now be titled "the over priced, multiple off-white panelled, piece of shit ford taxi money pit."
I dont think any of the above is wrongly described, keep your eye out for updates.

Think youve missed the point pal , i was actually trying to be helpful .
GpA describes a set of regulations that were enforced , like Formula 1 for instance, its too commonly used by people as a "motorsport Added tax " way of screwing more money out of the un-knowing !
As for "too much of a pain " if £100 quids worth of easy mod to stop your car driving like the Jelly moulds they are as std ,is too much then wait for the expensive bits !!
Good luck .

ha ha, OK mate, point taken, will describe stuff better in future. I dont know exactly what Ive bought, just know its what I wanted to do the job. The cost is fine, I just dont want a failure in anything I spec for the car, bearings included.
Seriously though Tony, a big thanks for the replies, I value peoples input especially when they have such good results as yourself. Thanks again guys
