Went along with my friend today to Maylum Motorsport to see how his mk2 escort is progressing. Looks pretty good so far. Took some pics.

a 2.0ltr 16v Zetec is going in it. Was in it before as well but that was before we saw the light. The car orignally went to prepfab - never again!!! All the stuff in red oxide primer is what Maylum has done. There's still plenty to do, full FIA approved multi point roll cage, fire wall and rear axle to sort yet.

That's what I thought but it's just the camera angle

Maylum Motorsport were building mk1 WRC escorts over 30 years ago when things like to world cup cross member didn't exist. Maylum make prepfab look like a bunch of amateurs.

Full tech list so far...

1. Alloy forest arches and chin spoiler fitted as ford works teams
2. Group 4 inner rear wheel arch mods.
3. Turreted rear suspension points.
4. Group 4 rad cut out.
5. Stitch welded along full length of both chassis rails.
6. strengthening gussets between top of chassis rail and baulk head.
7. doubled up baulk head.
8. battery romoved from under bonnet.
9. Strengthening gussets in front wheel arches.
10. large gearbox tunnel.
11. Large rear diff tunnel.
12. 4 link boxes.
13. Watts linkage towers.
14. Platform for alloy fuel tank.
15. Fuel filler cap removed from rear quarter and smoothed.
16. Multi-point FIA approved roll cage.
17. Skid brackets from chassis rails to cills.
18. Plated front suspension mounts.
19. Leda Coil overs on the front with progressive springs (don't know the spring rating).
20. Cossie front disks with wilwood 4 pot calipers and M1144 mintex pads.
21. Cossie rear disk conversion and calipers.
22. Bias pedal box and group 4 accelerator pedal (pedal reduces amout of travel from idle to full revs which is about 25mm of movement).
23. Bonnet and boot pins.
24. 13" minilight alloys (don't know what tyre sizes).
25. English rear axle with watts linkage.
26. 4 linked rear axle.
27. coil overs on the rear.
28. Plated slip diff with 4:4 crown wheel and pinion.
29. Sierra Type 9 gearbox with quaife 4 speed straight cut gear kit.
30. Custom single piece propshaft.
31. 2ltr 16 zetec with lightened and balanced fly wheel.
32. Webber twin 45's with Webber Alpha ignition management, rev limit set at 8000rpm.
33. Fully plumbed in fire extinguisher with 2.25 ltr capacity bottle and I think it's a 1.25 ltr hand held jobby.
34. All fuel and brake lines run inside the car.
35. RR'd at B&D Engineering 150bhp @ the rear wheels @ I think 6000rpm.
37. Motodrive FIA approved bucket seats and 3" multi point harnesses.
38. lexon (i think) plastic glass panels except front screen which has to be laminated.
39. Alloy sump guard.
40. Heater bulge removed and hole plated.
