well just found out my s2 has a s1 ecu in it and the inlet manifold has no where 2 clip knock sensor 2 so do i need 2 buy a inlet manifold with knock sensor connection or can i just swap ecus and carry on driving with no knock sensor

 

if its a s1 ecu you dont need a knock sensor what year is your car early ones did not come with em (i think)

 

its 88 mate forgot 2 mention ive got a chipped ecu that im swapping over that has knock sensor

 

if the ecu is anything but blue red blue it needs a knock sensor with out it the timing will be all over the place

 

it is blue red blue s1 so it shouldnt be in my s2 dont no why its been put in been driving it like it since i bought the car while back now and it feels flat so decided 2 chip it thats when i found these probs just dont no what to do now

 

some people say the s1 ecu is better then the s2
have you looked for the green plug under the engine bay?

 

yes mate green plug on inlet manifold not got 1 weird int it cant figure out why it has been changed round
