Personal Debts over 6 years old...
Basically barclaycard are chasding me for £700. I wont go into details but the debt is now over 6 years old. I have had no dealings with the account what so ever (IE no payments made - allegedly and no spending done, also no interest acrued).
I am getting threatening letters from a debt collectors about this but due to the Limitation Act I belelive that after 6 years I am not legally responsible for this debt.
Can someone confirm on this?

Dont think the limitation act fully applies to private companies in that way.
Its their money, and you agreed to a certain arrangement when you signed up to the account. If your not complying with that arrangement then they can persue you down that avenue.
Was talking to a solicitor the other day about some money my girlfriend owes and she said that private companies can literately dictate their own tearms on when and how you pay any money you owe because you have pre signed agreement.

Whoa there chaps...............ain't as easy as that...............
Barclaycard have sold the debt on, and the company they've sold it on to will chase, and chase, and chase..........don't be nieve enough to think that after 6 years it goes away because it doesn't.
All it does it gets removed from your credit file. If you owe, you owe and debt companies never ever give up. Unless you die.
