Default Mobile phone users on contract...

Do you get charged to ring 0800 numbers ?

I am on Orange contract, and since Decemeber they are charging customers 10p/min to ring free phone numbers

What network are you on, and do they charge their customers to ring 0800 ?

Also, do you get penalised financially for not paying by direct debit each month ? £3/month with Orange...

Cheers in advance,

0800 numbers won't be free on any network I would think, you either pay or it will come out of your inclusive minutes. I'm with Vodafone and that's what they do also.

Pisses me off though when companys charge you because you do not pay via DD.

3 pound a month = £36 a year for nothing

Glenis. You must have a bank account in order to have a contract phone because they do a credit check on you before giving you the contract. So why havent you set it up via DD?

And 0800 is charged on my contrtact phone with T-Mobile.

yeah your right i did originally, but then i never set it up again after i switched banks.

I just dont see why they penalise people just because they choose to pay via a different method.

it seems grossly unfair to charge a customer more money, just because they dont pay you in your preferred method of payment.

they dont do it in shops when you pay by card, and not in cash or vice versa...
