Default Anyone know about trains stuff?

I wanna get a train from my place (nearest station is Waltham Cross) to Northampton on Thursday. gotta be in N'hampton for 6pm(ish) and a mate will pick me up from station so I can go collect me new S1.

Did a search on google, found National Rail, but that reckons I have to leave mine at 15:40 to get there at 18:05 Nearly 2 and a half hours to go about 40miles? Fuck me my old 3i was faster than that

Anyone got any idea's?

get to St Pancras / Kings Cross station and it will cost you Ł14.90 for a single to Bedford. Presume Northampton isnt a lot further so wont cost much more?? I think the train service is 'Midland Mainline'.

Not looked at what route the train takes, but from the station you mentioned itl take an age as theres no direct route, infact i doubt theres 2 stations so close that has such an unbelivably indirect route to each other.

The 2 choices for a route from that station--

A train back into central london, then another train (probably from another station, cant remember) back up direct to northampton.
This is IMO by far the quickest if u sticking to trains.

OR

The really long way of doing things, which is a train to peterboro, then all way to nuneaton jus east of brum (prob have to change trains already to get this far), then another train right back down to northhampton.

Your best bet IMO is get on the fookin bus or summat from yours to Watford station and then train direct to Northampton, as Watford station is the closest station thats actually on the direct Northampton line.

There you go, sorted

And yes, i know FAR too much about train routes

Fooking jsut run it through auto route and it's 51 miles away, journey time of 46mins

So there and back is 102 miles taking 1h30mins - which would cost about Ł10/Ł12 in my van

And no piss-stinking trains

FFS someone drive me
