fan not cutting in need help

fan not cutting in need help
my car has had a switch fitted on dash to control fan
to wires have been conected to blue clip and it works fine
how ever when i reconect to rad temp switch on termostat housing nothing happens
i have bought a new red temp switch pluged it in and
put it in boiling water nothing
help please thanks
