Default Anyone play online poker

Anyone play online poker? What sites do you use and have you any success at it or any of the online casinos?

Tony,

Yes, a lot.

I play mostly at Poker Stars for their sit n go tournaments, and as for "UK" sites, I sometimes frequent William Hill, VC, Ladbrokes.....

Success is reasonable as I've been playing for a couple of years, but it depends what level you play at. One of my old school mates is a seasoned pro, with a WPT win under his belt, and he plays 300/600 - big money time!

Much prefer playing live, which I do at a couble of clubs in London, and a few reasonable price tourneys across the south of England.

Of course you can.

You just have to be playing at a high enough level that people will respect a raise, and not just call for value.

Unfortunately for some, and at anything less than 2/4 cash, people will call anything!

See I steer clear of Party Poker - because of it being the largest site, especially in this country, you get a LOT of bad players.

It generally means you end up with people calling you down, and inevitably catching - can be a costly affair.

if playing for proper money... the only thing that concerns me is there are alot of cheats in online poker..

for example..

8 man tournament. you and 5 other mates at 1000 quid each... therefore you team up and beat the other two people.. 2000 between you.. keep doing this etc This is what I have heard so whethe it is true or not

Very unlikely to happen - there's some seriously complex software out there to spot collusion.

If you get caught at it..... and you will, then your account is frozen, all winnings are withheld, and the police can be contacted.

It will notice when you consistently drop playable hands in favour of the leading hand at all times.

The only thing is, at the top tounament level playing Ł1000 entry, there aren't THAT many online players, so people know who's who, and the site certainly keeps good tabs.

ok, the online poker i play, its hard to bluff.

but then i never play with my own money. so as you say, i call anything sometimes, and if i loose, then i loose fook all, and just start again

Play money?

So very different to the real thing - when you're sitting on trips Qs with a 9 10 Q 8 board, and the guy's just bet into you for Ł50 into a Ł300 pot, it's a little more serious!

I tried setting up 2 computers with different credit cards etc. and VC wouldn't let my second computer login

however a few friends of mine play on William Hill and they play as a group of 3 and keep in touch on MSN and regularly fleece everybody that play, they haven't been caught as yet

so I don't play online anymore

as for casino's I've played 888 on many occaisons once I started with $200 and won $3700 it all started when I was playing roulette and it combined a few beers, discussing what was for tea with the wife and not realising that the chip pointer was on the $25 chips placed one on No. 25 and before I could stop myself I'd clicked spin LOL!!!!

guess what $900

took 3 months to get my money though, they sent a cheque through the post from america which I took to my bank which they then had to send back to america or something

mind you looking at my betting history I'm about even, so that tells you a story
