Default Anyone like Aircooled Volkswagens?

I use to be well into them (still love them) and owned a 67 dropped narrowed beetle with porsche wheels.

Also been to santapod loads of times to bug jam etc to see road going beetles up the strip.

Remember one car a yellow cabriolet 2.2, throttle bodies, massive turbo doing a 10 second quater mile. Lifted the fronts in 1st and second!

I know this aint a vw forum but just thought id see if you lot are into anything else?

I used to have a 1963 Beetle, was lowered 12" at the front and 4 Splines at the rear!! Was a little impractical!!

I did a body-off Resto, but never finished it. Gave up after about £10k, with the prospect of about another £10k to finish it!!!

My sister has a 1960's Rat-look Split Bus, which she is about to lower 8".

I would love another Bug, with a lairy Turbo lump, but Ms B isn't keen!!

Hey Peter, yeh I'm into them too!

Have always been into them since i can remember - my Dad and uncle have had loads and so did my grandad.

My Grandmothers father was in the British Engineers during World War II when the British came across the Kubelwagen for the first time and they've pretty much been in the family since then!

Bought my first car about 6 months ago - she's a '75 Nepal Orange Sunroof Beetle - bonestock (at the moment) only 62k miles! Still own her now, and i daresay i shall for a long while! (in my Sig) Might get some more pics up shortly..

I think you mean Richie Webb's bug - i agree, it's crazy!

I'm not trying to big VW's up, or put Fords down - but i think many Ford owners would be surprised by the potential an old VW has performance-wise.. especially on the drag-strip.

I'm glad someone else on here is into them aswell as Fords though! Good show!
