is this a trick question? if not itll be a 1.8 probably. dont think there is a 1.6 in newish cars.

if its an e36 it could be a 1.6,if its another model its a 1.8.e36 has m40 engine e30 has m10 engine,e46 has m43 or n42 engine.

Its an R-reg and yeah it was the engine size i was after, this guy next door is a 2nd hand car dealer and brings all sorts home, he came home in this last week.

Its got the skirts, rear spoiler but the wheels arent nothing special, looks quite nice though.

a 98 R reg would be the last of the e36 models with the 1596 cc m10 engine with 90 bhp.the e46 316i came along in 1999 with a 1895 cc m43 engine and 115 bhp. both are 4 cylinder

yeah 1.6 sounds about right as sounds abit asmatic and underpowered, but looks like a fast car, strange
