how do you guys lift up your cars?

Mr Haynes says to stick my trolley jack under the front crossmember but it doesn't lift it high enough to stick axle stands under the front end.

I have a Halfords 2 Tonne trolley jack and my car isn't lowered,

Use the gearbox cradle

or the front anti roll bar mountings,i got one of those jacks and have no probs getting stands on the front chassis rails!

 

Drive the car onto blocks of wood, should give you the clearance to get the jack under.
