best build for 200bhp??
engine is due a rebuild so ive deciced to go for 200bhp, don't want anything to mad or unreliable and so i think 200bhp would be ideal for me.
just want to find out the best way to achieve this as im sure there are plenty of ways, ideally looking for lots of torque and minimal lag.
any info you can give me would be great so i can start sorcing the parts

Probaby about 17psi and yes that's with the standard head and cam. Your engine will need to be in good nick though. You can't tune a tired engine.
My Fiesta makes 207bhp with bugger all mods (exhaust, filter, T3 conversion, beiges and 195 chip)

engine should be pretty good as it will be a fresh rebuild. any preferences on exhaust to go for and bore? and what type of intercooloer? will the standard clutch be able to cope with that sort of power or is a paddle clutch in order? also thinking would it be better to go down the 1900cvh route to have more torque and run less boost?
I'm personally not a fan of the 1900 conversion but I know a lot of people who are quite happy with it. Exhaust wise the general consensus is that a Mongoose is the one to have although Magnex and Scorpion are both excellent. An uprated clutch is always a good idea over 180bhp and expect the gearbox to throw the towel in sooner rather than later.

I have heard nothing but bad things about Specialised Engines, so I would avoid them like the plague. Use the search function on here for Specialised Engines and you shall find some posts about them.

thanks for the advice guys ....it's too early in the year to commit to anything for definate just yet ,,,,i am looking to get a reliable ,bullet proof 180-190 bhp and thought it might have been better to go with the 1.9 and run low(ish) boost ...with a front mount i.c ....
any other thoughts or opinions would be gratefully received ...

The Outfit who 'specialise' in engines fit cast (hypereutectic) pistons
which were designed for the american 1.9 cvh which was never
treated to forced induction in it's home market.
These have the unfortunate habit of turning to chocolate when
running 8psi.
If you read their site carefully they 'get round' this one by lowering
the compression (kinda defeats the point)and invalidating their
warranty if you raise the boost above 7psi.
The other 'gentlemen' no longer build engines you'll hear allsorts about their
engine builder developing a dodgy back (he put cast pistons in his 1.9's
as well)so they no longer build engines.Back or too many warranty claims
due to crap engineering/you decide. They will however be happy to
steer you in the direction of another expert in West London who'll also
take 700 beer tokens off you for a set of the above dairy milk pistons.

Actuator, chip, intercooler and most importantly set up will see you
knocking on 200. Exhaust and filter will just line the pockets of all those
nice people in both editions of Ford Tuner Advertiser Monthly.
Bear in mind though 200 is when you start to break (a lot of) things.
Good luck
