Default Group A rear beam

Are they worth the cash, have heard plenty of good things but as they are very pricey I wanted some more opinions first-pref from people who have got them or been in a car with one fitted

Transform the car if set up correctly.

Reduces understeer, improves traction and reduces tyre wear - what more could you want?

How does the Ahmed one differ from the zoo one. Does anyone have a picture of the Ahmed one?

Thanks Mike,

Not particularly clear from the big picture, looks like its only rose jointed/adjustable on the inner mounts?. Surely this is limiting its adjustability (camber only). With the Zoo the outer is also rosejointed and adjustable allowing toe to be dialed in too.

As I said, there are ,many versions of the beams depending on what you want to be adjusted. The Ahmed one in the picture was the basic one (Ł850) with only the camber being adjustable .

As you correctly point out the Ahmed one uses vastly superior rose-joints, however, I pointed this out to Brom and he now supplies the mega rose joints as a cost option .

Do you have the pukka joints fitted to your beam Mike?. I only ask because I have to lubricate mine every so often to prevent squeaking(I don't have the johnnys over them either )

Paul.

I've heard rumours regarding the rose joints on Zoo rear beams becoming loose................. People are having to get them tightened & re adjusted from thier own pocket.

Anbody confirm that?

Dave,
The standard rear set up causes the car to understeer, as their is huge difference in roll centres / bump steer, so the standard rear actually makes the front push on (which if you study your crash footage, you can see this in action ).

The Grp A beams even up this disparity, which makes the car more neutral.

Franco,
This happened once on my car when the beam was first fitted, and Zoo paid for a full realignment and set up at my local alignment centre. I have not had any issues since.

Jakob,
As Paul says, the "strapped" version with motorsport rose joints would be essential in your pot-holed country . At present, this precludes the Bayjoo item, as it is not strengthened.

All right :-/ I wonder if shipping will cost more then beam itself...

I must sort it out sooner or later. I will probably be boring you to death with questions at the Ring

Why would you? Or are you just stating that that is the kind of impatient person you are?

I had two passengers in the car and bearing in mind one of them was 2 (so cot, push chair etc), it should fit in your car, as it will be in three pieces...

I'm going to have 2 people in the car too. But maybe it could be done.

You know how much gold I have to rob from the bank?

You have to decide on the version you want first .

We then need to drag Brom away from his Bromettes and make sure he can do one in time .

Well I mean the version you would advice so it won't crak, bend or fall into pieces
