What is the difference between a 285 and a 285T2 cam???

 

ones a mid range(285) and others top end for high boost(285t2)

 

I had an 285* Piper cam on my xr3i and that work like a mofo on high revs, so is it safe to say that the 285T2 is like that?

 

The 285T2 is a bit of a naff cam, might make a good paperweight though. Better off going for a Kent CVH35

 

got a piper 285t2 and i love it, got a big turbo so dont ever notice if its off cam, boost starts rapidly climing at 2700- 3000rpm, and holds power to the red line.

 

My T2 was shit door stop anyone.

 

It's because the profile is very similar to that of the Kent CVH 35 then was then tweeked a bit to get round copyright. The T2 cam sacrifices power and torque lower down the revs for peak power right at the very top.

 

T2 is sweet on my S1

Different matter if i mod the car any further though!
