try taking the clocks out again and making sure all the sticky tape like conductor stuff has been pushed down to connect all around the back of the clocks as this started to peel on mine taped em down again and all is minty
ok ill look at the clocks again tomorrow shall i just use ordinary cellotape and stick it all down?is the pick up off the coil?there are three wires on the connector to the coil i could check for continuity between the wires to check for a break but i dont know which wire i need 2 check anybody know?
I'm not actually too sure what pollocks is refering to but then i dont have a fiesta. As for the coil wiring, it does pick up off the negative side of one of the windings, just probe both the green wires it will only be on one.
It's unlikely to be wiring to be honest though....possibly the multi plug that connects the main engine loom to the car loom...

follow the injector rail wiring loom, you should see an 8 pin multi plug clipped to a metal plate on the inlet manifold. Wiring as such doesn't tend to play up for no reason, especially things like this, usually the more powerful items if any. So your looking for all the weak points in the chain, so as pollocks said, the back of the clocks, and this wiring multi plug which after the years get damp and corrode etc.

hey guys still no luck checked the clocks they seem ok no broken wires or corrosion.1 thing i did notice,is there more than 1 type of clocks cos my new rev counter got efi written on front where as my old 1 didnt and my old clocks had pointed needles and the ones i got now the needles are rounded?im confused now?
Probably just later clocks. Whether they are from an EFI or not will make a difference, but only to what it reads. Will still work in some way. Have you continuity tested the wires and checked for 12v and earth?
no not yet just visually checked it all out ive never been very handy with electrics being colour blind dont help for wires but hey the mrs will come to good use.ill find my self a multimeter and keep u posted mate.cheers for the help
