boost dependant 200brake!

Id want to know more about the Ecu. If you are serious I recomend you find out what colour's or shapes are on the ECU, wont take seconds to see.....it may be that its Stage 1 rather than Series 1 ECU.

Series 1 ECU in a Series 2 RST isnt a good Idea.

looks a nice car

Some of the earlier ECU's didnt have a knocklink, where as the later 1's did. The car in pic being 90spec should have an ECU with symbols on it.

Im sure others will assist here but the 90spec ECU has

A (Heart shape) a (#) and another symbol on it.

hope that helps

Yeah it will make the car go like stink, and YES it will run, but being a very good modification to make....... I dissagree, Ive seen 2 many engines let go running the S1 ECU chipped in an S2.

Each to their own though 'It could be said I'm overly cautious when it comes to safety and engine protection.

Yes we all have different ways of doing things, the ECU is only missing the knock sensor that is the problem with late ecu’s, and they always go wrong and make the car very sluggish!

The series1 ecu makes the car run smoother not necessarily quicker

Looks a nice car, for 4K it should be very clean, no previous welding, lowish miles, and a good service history and overall appearance should be very well. Ive saw almost (well not too far away from it) concours cars being sold for 4K! And ofcourse makesure the engine is what it sais!

The thing is with buying any modified car is always take the spec with a pinch of salt as it will turn out to be untrue or thrown together!!

Look at the whole car and see if the actual car is worth it, you’re buying a car not a spec list.

Check all history, rust is a major issue and there are no specific areas to check, check everywhere

If you move away from heavily modded ones like the one you have seen and start to look at cherished/show cars and then modify it yourself you will end with a much nicer car

Hope this helps

I think he means if he's buying it from a dealer, then it might be untrue or some missing as it's 2nd hand knowledge, but if your buying it from the actual owner it may be more to the truth

True enough but it's always best to asume the seller is telling pork pies. Could have saved myself a 400 mile round trip to Wales

Kiddie, its your old car with forged plates and a few subtle touches

There's better ways to aid air flow than that, but looks clean

Could always just get some new ecu's and go from there...

S1 ECU is a very good idea in an S2. The S2 ecu's knock link plays up all the time. If the ignition is set properly, why should it melt?!
