I've just put a new door on the saff, after a whopping 13 months searching for one
and it has a silver pinstripe sticker on it - whats the easiest way of removing this?
Also, i've today re-wired the alternator to battery using some rather chunky cable - 12mm diameter
and gold plated terminals, and then re-terminaled all the connections to the battery as i was only seeing 12.9 volts at hot idle on the SECS monitor, now its seeing 13.1/13.2 which is an improvement, but would this suggest that the regulator is past its best in the alternator? or the battery is past its best too
Cheers

Gracey, I'm in the process of rebuilding my alternator at the mo. I'll keep you posted if you like?
I was told that the alternator output should be 14.5V, not sure how true this is
I've got 13.2-13.4 at the ECU now, which is good as my battery voltage is about 13.4-13.5, but I'm looking for a bit more...
Neil.

I think the thread the other day
said you should be seeing (ideally) 13.5 to 13.7 on secs
(at idle with nothing else turned on when warm)
and anything above 14 is dodgey (as i understood).

Cheers boys
Neil - optimal voltage is 14.1 volts
Phil - Secs monitor ideally should be showing 13.6 volts, if you take into account for the 0.5v drop over the shonky old ford wires
i think it may be my battery thats on its way out as the car struggles to start if left for more than 5 days without been started
another 60 quid
