Default MATE CRASH HIS CAR WILL IT BE A CAT D

My mate crash his car the other week and cannot afford to get it fixed so he is gonna go though his insurance will this put it on file e.g cat d or something

No Cat D means it is a total loss category D, i.e. the car will cost more to repair than it is worth in a nutshell (although there are other reasons)

It will only be Cat D if they write it off.

Depends really. If the car aint worth much they may well write it off. And pay out on it.

From memory Cat D can be repaired. Cat C can but its normally not worth it. But Cat B and A cannot be repaired.

cat d is very little damage easy repair

cat a is cush only cat b is cant be put back on road spares only

think im right on the above

Cat A - total loss, IE, fire no mechanical value - cannot go back on the road, declaired as fit for scrap only

Cat B - total loss, mechanical value in spares - vehicle cannot go back on the road, but can be broken for spares

Cat C - total loss, but repairable, allowed back on road subject to VIC check

Cat D - total loss, financially only, IE - a full respray after someone has damaged the paint work
