Default my sapph cossie 2wd engine diy build

all coming along nicely, performed a dummy bottom end engine build to measure deck height, and then piston dish volume and head combustion chamber volume to work out cc's....ive got a excellent comp ratio tool and will put a link up for the download later.....had pistons machined to get my required ratio and now should be ready next week....total cost so far is £1520 which includes.......
block- pressure test, refaced and rebored then chemical clean.
head -pressure test,skimmed,chemical clean,new guides/seals,valves lapped,new studs,and reassembly.
sump-chemical clean, steel sump plug insert fitted.
crank checked
mahle .5 o/s pistons
full grp a gasket set
oil pump
mains/big/small ends bearings/big end bolts
cam belt and tensioner
there are a few bits ive still got to get but not urgent as im taking my time and getting it perfect....heres a few pics, theres one of the engine in my spare room (1st floor flat )as i got pissed off up/down to look at pdf workshop manual so carried it upstairs that was ok it was the carrying the full bottom end down the stairs on my own that nearly broke my back...what you reckon????

it was running stg3 before rhys, but have put yellows and stg1 chip back in for the moment and going stg3 again with new chip....the bottom end is built standard apart from pistons which i machined to 7.6/1 ready for when i go to greens with the t34...i got it running last sunday and it sounds sweet, have done 100 miles now at no more than 3000rpm and only problem ive had was a leaking washer on banjo bolt for turbo water return, which was easily fixed with new washers, but apart from that it sounds good....heres some pics...

Nice rebuild, Glad you took the time to have the block checked out properly and pressure tested and chemically cleaned.

As you know mines going back together as we speak.

I've worked out your "Cam Sprocket locking tool" Just made up up in the garage, and put it into place ready for dropping the head on. Just waiting for the Exhaust and Inlet Gaskets to arrive on tuesday, Hopefully we'll be running tuesday night.

I see another session of burning the midnight oil coming on.

Jim

nice engine, maybe some nice blue hoses and alu will make the finishing touch
But I can imagine you've gone through your spares with rebuilding the engine, so good luck.
