Mine started off well, until family bereavement/becoming a dad, and havent trained seriously in a month, diet went to shit, as a result lost 5kg off my weight, back training when I can now, and the diet is getting better/cleaner, but as soon as things settle down and we're not at the hospital in Oxford so often, (newborn daughter in intensive care) then i'll be back on it in full force.

The gym I go to has some genuine monsters and many a heavyweight high level competing bodybuilders. A good few of them have the afore mentioned distended guts and it looks terrible. if that's the only way to get that big I think I'll leave the Hgh. One mentioned its down to the fact that at that mass it is physically impossible to eat enough and so the gut swells by various mechanisms. Not sure how much truth in it? Quick YouTube video showing the great look these guys have spent years getting!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgYaW...e_gdata_player

Random Question that I've always wondered; on the topic of steriods/growth hormone. Is there a natural limit that people generally perceive?

Say bench press. I got to 135kg including the bar. 3 months into that weight we had a baby with everything that comes with it so I knocked it on the head as the weeks went by. I struggled trying to get past this on just eating well and training once a week.

Has anyone else come to a general consensus as to wear the human body's natural limits start to take effect and it becomes hard to progress without crazy amounts of protein/creatine or anything further along the spectrum?

Strength limits are very different to size limits.

No one is going to walk around at 20 stone, 8% bodyfat without steroids.

However someone who is infact 20stone, 8% bodyfat and has used steroids may bench (for example) 160kg, a weight which is most definately attainable by some who has never used steroids.

Personal experience as a real life example, i can bench 140kg, never used steroids, but there are guys in the gym who have used steroids and can't bench 140kg.

It all depends on types of training, length of time lifting, natural muscle makeup (i believe some people are genetically stronger than others) and diet.

That said, the elite strength athletes, strongmen, powerlifters and a fair number of olympic lifters more than likely use/have used in the past.

genetics plays a big part in the whole scheme of things also
and 100% agree diet is a massive part also

Training is going well. Down to under 18stone again but carrying a load more muscle and still getting stronger in some areas.

Latest training video, 200kg squat for 2 reps. Kinda wanted 3 but second rep was a bit wobbly and had no spotter so racked it. Would have got it easily though, obviously .

I've been cutting quite hard recently, sub 2000kcals some days and i hate it, it's a mental thing now, before when i was shedding weight i never gave a fuck about retaining muscle and/or strength, now i'm concerned about it, i feel small and weak and gay.

I desperately want to go some sort of training, anything, but I'm still biffed. I've never felt so frustrated in all my life. Literally haven't been able to do a thing in about 9-10 weeks now.

Dogshit. Just cant find motivation, Diet is dogshit and working in a brewery its ready beer
I am turning up at the gym and just seem to be going through the motions, getting bored quickly and easily, but then again they have stopped the boxing here and I enjoyed that, there is a boxing gym opening soon around the corner from our house so fingers crossed things should start up again.
I have been walking alot, 3 or 4 mile a night, playing at getting the MTB out, swim twice a week and come out of retirement from football.
Once I sort the diet out I may start to see some progress, I am a fit fat cunt, sort the food and i will just be a fit cunt
