1.4 tdci fuel filter, shall i?
All, i am going to service my car and was wondering if its a tough tricky job to do the fuel filter on my fiesta tdci
im a confident home mechanic and the car needs a service

Easy enough to change, can be a pig to bleed though and car won't start if there's trapped air in the system! Personally, if it's your daily car I'd do the rest of the service and have someone else do the filter for the sake of half hour labour, their problem when it won't start then

is the hand pump to the left of the air filter?
also where is it
will it make much difference if i change it? i havent seen it in the service record

this is what i did on my 1.6 because i read they were a paint to get started agen

Iv taken your advice and not done the fuel filter lol
Don't the rest of service though inc the.brakes
First time iv touched tools inyears, quite therapeutic and enjoyable

changed filter on mine filled with fuel now t wont start its the 1.4 tdci even the garage havent got any ideas why it dont go even tried refitting the old filter still no luck engine management is also on now i need help

As said, if you prime it using the hand primer that's near the bulkhead on top of the engine BEFORE trying to start it, you should have no problems, if you haven't primed it before starting it, then yes you can have problems as you've filled the whole system with air.
