Fiesta Rs turbo Surging
hi guys,
Im looking into buying a fiesta RST. The current owner has told me that the engine currently surges going downhill or usually under 30mph
Whats the usual cause of this?
Should it put me off buying one?

That would not put me off at all as a FRST owner , probably something and nothing to fix , and if you are looking to buy you are an enthusiast that expects a bit of fiddling and fetling
It could be , depending on engine speed something as simple as a ISCV sticking , or a faulty speed sensor not telling ECU actual road speed so it just goes to a default map , quick star tester check would be one way

a little fettling doesnt put me off and is expected, just didnt want it to be anything serious

20K+ Super Poster.
As said not a indication of anything serious, could be as simple as ignition timing slightly advanced on cars where adjustable, or a rich mixture, or as said above, depends what management is fitted as not too hot on these.
It looks ace by the way, nice colour as well , is that the worlds best colour ? = mercury grey colour, oddly enough same as my sapphy!!

It does like a nice example , and I have to say it is the same colour as mine as well , mine is a one previous owner example , my dad , it was bought from a dealership I used to work at and is at this moment going through a mini restoration , new bonnet , ns 1/4 panel and drivers door , another gearbox has been bought and LSD fitted to swap as a complete unit so I can put it back to original if required , hope you get this and enjoy it
