This really is very silly but I'm looking for a link.
My careless mate removed the nut from the driveshaft (the nut
that you peen to lock) and has lost the washer that sits behind
it (arrowed in the picture).
I can't find the thing so I've been on the web trying to get another.
At the various Ford parts oulets, I can find any number of new hubs.
I also got the peeny nuts on eBay but I can't find said washer anywhere.
The snag is, I don't even know what to call it. Driveshaft washer? Hub nut
washer? Nothing comes up.
So, has anyone got a link to a source? Please let me know if you
have. Eeven a used one would do.
That's fantastic haz87, thank you so much, I'll get on the web to find one.
i wonder how long the top level Ford think tank took to come up
with that name. As it covered so many years, it deserved better.
This should open up your options - few different vehicles to dig around from, or worst case use the size and find something generic off the shelf. Unlikely you'll get mm perfect, but close will do...
I'd found those measurements and even a part number (E830607576).
So, I took a look on the web and found said washer is a rarity.
The good news is that, when working on the car this afternoon,
the missing washer showed up! It was lurking on the scuttle
panel under the rear end of the bonnet. It's slightly rusty
but I have a grit blast cabinet so the washer will be minted
up and reused.
I've alse deciding to make life easier by buying new
front struts and springs. My kit car's bodywork can't
rust but teh hardware below decks certainly has.
