Default 1.4 tunning

hi guys im looking at getting a mk4 fiesta ghia, i think its the 90bhp engine, just wondering what gains you get from a decat and full exhuast? aswell as a panel filter, iv not got time for a puma engine swap so look to get a bit more out of it?(if its really worth it?) iv also thought on bike carbs has anyone done this?
any help will or advise will be very greatfull as im kinda new to owning a ford so please excuse stupid questions

Not a great deal of point I wouldn't have thought. Maybe with throttle bodies, cams, exhaust system and aftermarket management you might get 120-130 bhp, but you are looking at 4 figures for it.

Maybe uprate the brakes, suspension and make it a bit lighter, that will make the car quicker point to point. There is more to going fast than just power!

Bang on. Either save your pennies for a better base to start with, or spend the money where it matters, I.E brakes, suspension etc etc.

cheers guys, i always use decent tyres, and ill be useing ferodo ds2500 pads as iv used these for years and they awsome and great on the track too,also an upgrade to 5dot fliud will be done,not sure if it will be getting lowered yet as iv got 3 kids and need to keep it comfy,

You can do quite a bit with the 1.4, as its used in motorsport quite a bit and makes a great engine if you compete in a 1.4 class, but its quite expensive to do, and a puma engine conversion is a lot more financial sense unless you are restriceted to engine capacity classes, but I've heard of 1.4s with bike carbs (off a suzuki gsxr 750 I believe), ported heads, high lift cams and tubular manifolds doing 110 @ the wheels. But costs about £2-3k.
