Default Fiesta problem

Hi all new to this forum but decided to join as I have bought my first ever Ford she's a near enough standard (just dressup bits, exhaust trim wheel trims etc) and has the 1.1 engine, however my problem is not with the engine rather I have decided to fit a Goodmans stereo and the leads however I need help with my wiring as I don't know which are the corresponding wires on my car (right speaker left speaker, ground etc...) if anyone can help you'd help me millions...by the way I hope to have it in for this afternoon as it's when I'm taking it for the first drive!!!

Welcome to the forum! Get some pics up

These are the rule of thumb for wires off the loom:

Red= Permanent Live
Yellow = Ignition Live
Blue = Auxilliary Live/Electric aerial
Black = Earth

Check it works before you put it back in as sometimes the Yellow and Reds need reversing as the stereos don't match up.

Speaker wires, well an ICE expert may know which is which but just use trial and error!

They are normally a solid colour then the same colour with a line if that makes sense? Or they follow that pattern, so light green will go with the one with a light green stripe?

I've always worked on the principal that the one with the strip is negative.

It's just a process of eliminiation putting them in.

Fade your stereo to the front left speaker, test the wires and fin the right one! Obviously gets quicker/easier as you get towards the last speaker

Good Luck

Well as i said nothing special but thought i should upload a pic to show off, quite a clean example for Ł80 and it had a month's tax and test left on it and was better than the Metro that was on an M plate and was in worse condition at nearly 3 times the price!!!

The list of mods so far is a Goodmans stereo (only tape but it's all i want at the mo) an LED gearknob and AutoArt clear indicators, all i want for now as i am still to pass my test and once that's out the way then i have my first job, my cousin's sister in law has asked her to ask me to do the wedding photography which should give me around Ł350 to get the car looking half decent and then that'll more than likely be spent on fibreglass...lots of it as i'm not into some of the bodykits on the market and am past wanting a jap style bodykit so i am going to have a go at building a kit for it similar to the Sirus bodykit for the A3 supplied by AB Styling but without the bits on the air channels that in my opinion are too sharp looking, in the end it will look more euro than modified and will be as smooth as anything you've seen before and will be low and loud and with those trademark tiny but wide chrome wheels...pic follows

Bargain car!!

Dude, no offence as everyone has different tastes, but you'd be FAR better off just putting the XR2i kit on there and smoothing it in if you're going for the euro look

Unless you're an absolute whizz with fibreglass, the chances are it's gonna end up looking shite. Fair enough, everyones gotta start somewhere, but why not prectiace on a mates car just in case you mess it up

If I was you, I'd get down the local scrappies and rape an XR for all the bits

have thought of going with the XR2 kit but decided if it was going to be like that it would without a doubt have to be loud and lairy, as for the fibreglass i was taught by my dad who used to work in a bodyshop . Before I do anything though I've gotta get "THE PROBLEM" sorted...basically it's overfuelling and smoking like a chimney, replaced the plugs, they were black and seeping petrol everywhere the filter was also black so I thought, well this'll sort it...NADA! replaced plugs and filter and also stuck some RedEx in the tank...if anything it smokes even worse now but also when I took it for a little drive the other day (dad was sat next to me as I have only a provisional) but when going a hill of about 3 degrees it was missing really badly and at one point nearly stalled...so if any of you have any ideas PLEASE help me out as I'm lost now!
