Chipping N/A cars doesn't do much. You may gain about 5-10bhp. It's a modification that compliments other mods. My old 8v 2i started as standard and we finally got it to just a smidge over 133bhp by the addition of a manifold and custom exhaust system (not cheap PowerBodge), polished ported head, Piper cam, vernier pulley, fuel pump, chip, and induction kit. It was a chunky outlay for a 20bhp hike in power.
If you haven't allready I would spend the cash on a decent exhaust system and fit a panel filter in the original airbox (but drilled).

rather than the chip mate, id get down the scrappy and get the throttle body, cams and air flow meter from a 2.0 mondeo zetec, and pick up an ecu from a 130bhp spec 1.8 escort.
that lot will give you around the 130bhp mark, for around the same price as a superchip.....and ask matey above said, a chip will only give you about 5-10bhp tops.
