Mk2 XR2 18000 miles!!!!
Hello
I have just bought a gleaming black Mk2 Xr2 with only 18,000 miles on the clock. The car was held in storage for 15 years! the engine was excercised every week and serviced every year by the storage company. The owner then decided to take it out of storage and parked it on the drive for 3 years under a tree. I am now going to fully flush the engine oil and start afresh (fresh coolent, plugs, filters etc). I am just wondering what is the best oil to use taking into account its history. Do i treat the engine like new or treat it with kid gloves untill it is properly run in again? I just need help with what oils and/or additives to use to get the right level of protection.
