Default Wheel size ???

Hi all just a quick question, will 16inch mondeo wheels fit a mk3 XR2i with standard suspension. Tyre size is 195/45

From my experiance YES, but each car seams to very slightly, have no idea why but they seem to.

yes 195/45 is the optimum size, but 195/40's are better, you should be able to lower 30-40 mm without much trouble, and up to 60mm with a bit of arch trimming

Got them on today, fronts were fine only slightly touch on full lock on the inner plastic arch, can live with that.
Then it came to the rears... Let the car down off the ramps and it just sat on the rear shock cup
11mm spacers both side and some... um... gentle persuasion and they fit
Just got to lower it now as there is loads of clearence between the wheel and arches, looks nice though.
