driveshaft belt?wtf

Default driveshaft belt?wtf

Just took out old driveshaft on rs2fit new one but found when i tuk of the inner cup there were teeth al around d cup runing a smal belt that ran into a smal housing on the box with a sensor of some kind.what is this for and can i cut the belt if it is not vital as the new drive i have does not have the teeth to run the litle belt

very old fashioned abs system mate. its not too hard to remove it all together

who ever sold you the replacement shaft obviously forgot to ask if your car had ABS as the belt drives the Abs Pump

Can i just cut the belt an unplug the sensor?

yes but your car will fail an mot for having abs fitted but not working, the abs has to be completley removed to be a pass you only actually need to make 2 new front brakepipes to bypass the system then just remove the pumps etc...
they brake so much better without abs fitted as well

didnt no the car had abs as it never worked so will do as you say and make up new pipes and hope for the best,the brakes seem very bad to e honest need a good bleed aswell
