Good morning people,
I'm guessing a bit here but, here goes: -
I've spent last night finding and labelling all the connections on my Fiesta RST engine loom to go into my Westfield with a type-9 gearbox. However, I'm missing a speed sensor that connected to the RST FWD gearbox.
I'm guessing that the Sierra used a 1.8 CVH and type 9 and was rear wheel drive, using the same EFI managment as the FRST.
What/where would I find one, please (new or used) ?
I suppose the engine would fire up using the Crank Position Sensor (which I have) but, wouldn't actually go anywhere without the info from the Speed Sensor. Any help in acquiring one for a type-9 (or an alternative resolution to the problem) would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Neil

Cheers, Sammy,
Thanks for confirming. I phoned Motorsport Developments. (Someone told me they run/host this site). The guy said the same thing... that it'll hold the revs at 1100 rpm whilst the car is in motion, dropping it back to it's normal idle at around 900 rpm once the car comes to a stop. I'm feeling a bit more relaxed now![Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Do you know what it reads? Is it actual road speed or is it just telling the ECU that the car is still in motion?
My speedo is digital and measured from magnetic pulses from rear differential's bolts. If it's only cheking for movement I was thinking I could use the output of the speedo to the VSS on the loom.
Thanks again,
Neil
