how does the system work ie.. tank, pipe, pump, pipe, fuel pressure reg?

You need to define the question better. For a start is it FRST or ERST as there is a BIG difference

if fiesta rs turbo, it has a pump in the tank, from there via fuel filter under battery tray, from there to the fuel rail on the drivers side end of rail, it returns via the fuel pressure reglator back into the tank
