Been chasing my 1.4 zetec fez today and came across a 1.25 zetec fez. Although my car has better pickup and quicker cornering his 1.25 beats me on the straights. Ok he has a pipercross induction kit fitted and mine's still a standard under the hood, surely it wouldn't give him that kind of power.

Apaprently the 1.25 zetec engine is slightly quicker than the 1.4 zetec engine when it comes to straight. Anybody shed a little light?

Also other than fitting an induction kit myself is there any way to add a little extra boost to my ride so i can rely on a little more power other than just maneouvering techniques.

those 1.25's dont half nip along for what they are i was gunning it in my mk1 1.1 (just me and stripped out interior drilled airbox) and me mate with 2 passengers just breeze's past


do the wise thing buy a 1.25 .....................and throw it in a mk1

my mk6 1.4 16v beats my freinds 1.25 16 v hands down on the straights and its standard
