Default 1996 Fiesta 1.3 Encore Stalling and Idling problems

Hi guys I have seen many posts on here and other sites ref the above problem and need more help.

R Reg 1996 Fiesta 1.3 Encore.

Has recently suddenly started stalling at Traffic lights and today when dipping the clutch to slow towards a roundabout and on the roundabout when coasting before changing down. (Her indoors not impressed!)

So Far I have replaced the ISCV (90 notes from Fords), I have a new Oil filler cap and replaced the breather pipes to the cap, (Found the T Piece broken so thought I had a result! - was OK for about 6 weeks). There is "Mayo" in and around the filler cap as she only does short trips 10 -15 mins average. I also tightened all the rocker cover bolts which were loose. I have a new Air Filter and even replaced the foam bit in the filter case.

The next plan is the Coolant Temp Sensor and finding the ECU and taking it out and checking for water / corrosion and taking the opportunity to disconnect it to reset it.

Any Other thoughts?

Check for other air leaks.

Take it for a good long run to clear out the breather system aswell, and see whether the mayo is a result of short runs or something more serious.....

I had this problem with my frst and spent over a hundred quid on a new idle valve thinking that it would sort it but i didnt. I just paid for a diagnostic in the end. Also i had the same thing on my focus a while back. It was the speed sensor both times.

Thanks guys

As for the Speed Sensor I will suss that out next if necessary. Even the Ford Service desk suggested it!

I did have the ECU cover off yesterday and the ECU and area is bone dry and no signs of wetness.

I changed the coolant temp sensor yesterday and took the throttle module off and cleaned a lot of gunk out of it.

Changed the oil to the 5/30 spec, oil and air filter and new plugs. So far so good, the wife was actually impressed with it today!

Cheers for the replys
